1. Welcome to IvyTies's Crowdfunding platform.

This page explains our terms of use. When you use IvyTies Crowdfunding feature, you are agreeing to all the terms listed on this page. We may change these terms from time to time. If you keep using IvyTies Crowdfunding after a change, that means you accept the new terms.

IvyTies Crowdfunding campaigns can be used to raise funds for educational needs only, as explained in section 3 below.

2. Creating a campaign

By creating a Crowdfunding campaign on IvyTies, you agree that you are at least 18 years old. We may ask for proof of identity and age. If you are not 18 years old, you would need your parent or guardian to create and manage the campaign. We may ask for relationship proof if the campaign is created by a parent or guardian.

3. What campaigns can you create?

IvyTies Crowdfunding facility is solely for funding education needs. Funds can be raised for any education needs including, but not limited to, studying abroad, tuition, application fee, room and board, school supplies, living expenses, technology required for education, and sports and extracurricular activity fees. Campaign creators are not permitted to request funds for non-education needs. Each campaign will be reviewed by the administrators before it is published.

4. Terms for "backers"

We refer to those who donate to campaigns as "backers", and those raising funds as "campaign creators".

IvyTies provides a funding platform for raising both cash and in-kind donations for education needs. When a creator posts a campaign on IvyTies, they are inviting other people to donate in cash or in kind. IvyTies is only a medium to facilitate the transaction.

These terms are applicable when you are donating to a campaign:

- In an "All or Nothing" campaign, you are only charged if the campaign reaches its fundraising goal.

- In a "Money pot" campaign, you will be charged upon donation.

- IvyTies does not offer refunds. It is solely the campaign creator's responsibility to finish a campaign goal within the campaign period. IvyTies does not hold funds on creators’ behalf, cannot guarantee creators’ work, and does not offer refunds. However, we do a strict assessment before the campaign is published, which helps us eliminate false requests and benefit those truly in need.

5. Our fees

Creating a Crowdfunding Campaign on IvyTies is free. If you create a campaign that is successfully funded, we (and our payment partners - Stripe and PayPal) collect internet fees.

You are responsible for paying any additional fees or taxes associated with your use of Crowdfunding on IvyTies . No fees is charged for in-kind campaigns.
